Singapore climbed from 8th to 7th place in the World Economic Forum’s latest ‘global competitiveness index’ and takes the lead among Asian economies. The United States remains first on the list while Japan dropped from 5th in place to the 8th. The United Kingdom fell drastically from second to ninth.
